About Clearline Communications

ClearLine is a full-service marketing agency based in the UK.  We are experienced professionals working with a diverse range of UK and international clients while maintaining a specialisation in the leisure and commercial marine sectors.

ClearLine is headed by brother and sister team Matt and Marina Johnson, and since its foundation in 1995 the company has grown into a highly regarded media relations and marketing business. We are immensely proud of our track record of working with some of the most prestigious names in the marine industry many of whom we have retained for over 15 years.

Clearline’s account managers are supported by a number of administrative support staff and complementary associates including our long term graphic design partner Tinstar Design.

Marina founded ClearLine Communications in 1995, forming it into a highly regarded media relations and marketing business. In our first years the portfolio included multinationals such as Esso Petroleum and other clients ranging from conservation organisations to major health authorities.

Marina has had extensive senior client management experience in medium to large sized companies, advising on overall marketing strategies to achieve corporate goals, and providing a hands on approach to event management, relationships with the media and creative and practical marketing solutions. Marina’s offshore yacht racing and yachting journalist experience eventually led ClearLine to build an emphasis on marketing in the marine industry. She is a member of the Yachting Journalists’ Association and is a qualified RYA Yachtmaster. Marina is currently studying for the Post Graduate Diploma of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.

Matt joined ClearLine after spending ten years in the city during which time he broadened his experience in the fields of finance, IT and sales and marketing. He combines a sound knowledge of the business world with the skills of a capable all-round wordsmith and particularly enjoys getting to grips with campaigns focusing on technology, engineering, design and anything involving superyachts. Matt has an MBA from Henley Management College, is a director of Marine South East and is a regular contributor to Boating Business magazine on financial issues. Matt is also an experienced racing sailor.
